All about the trip
The extended version of our tour begins at Billy Bishop Airport, which is a small international airport located on the Toronto Islands in Lake Ontario. The airport is sometimes referred to as the Toronto Island Airport (and was previously known as Port George VI Island Airport).
As we ascend, flying northwards in a state-of-the-art helicopter, you will soon discover beautiful views of Toronto’s busy downtown with its famous skyline juxtaposed against the vastness of Lake Ontario and its 7,340 square miles of water stretching-out as far as the eye can see.
Having reached a good height above the buildings, there will now be plenty of opportunities from the air to take some memorable photos of the world-famous CN Tower which dominates the Toronto skyline. Fun fact: From bottom to top, the CN Tower has exactly 1,776 stairs (and luckily you don’t need to climb any of them in order to get a good view of Toronto). The CN Tower is also home to the world’s highest wine cellar (which is maybe a good-enough reason to climb all those stairs one day).
We head further north giving you the opportunity to fly over the magnificent Queen’s park, the Toronto University, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Gardiner Museum. After about 14-minutes, the extended version of our air trip around Toronto will almost be complete and so we begin to head back to Billy Bishop Airport.
With so much to see in all directions, please do remember to charge your camera batteries and bring an extra memory card with you. We know from first-hand experience that you will want to take more photos than you originally intended of such incredible views.
Also, don’t forget to bring some sunglasses too, as it can get quite bright over Toronto when flying on summer days.
Please remember to arrive 30 mins earlier than the flight time as there will be a briefing on helicopter safety from your pilot.
