All about the trip

This is the perfect combination of waterfalls, geothermal springs, and unparalleled landscapes paired with an opportunity to dive into the crystal-clear glacial waters that National Geographic describes as a top diving spot in the world. Here you can descend down into Thingvellir's rift valley that lays between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates and is the birthplace of the world's oldest continuous parliaments.

The road continues to the Geysir Area, where hot springs steam and boil as anticipation builds before the famous Strokkur Geysir erupts to a height of more than 30 meters. The final stop takes you down along a canyon with thunderous roar growing as you approach the magnificent and powerful Gullfoss waterfall.

Join our tour and step aboard one of our new buses, fully equipped with Wi-Fi connected computer tablets for each guest. The tablets provide you with a continuous stream of relevant information along the journey with a GPS synced Audio Guide, available with a choice of 10 languages. Along the tour our local hosts will make your experience comfortable and are happy to answer any questions you might have about our peculiar country. In each seat you will also find a USB outlet to charge any of your devices.

You must have read, signed, and followed directions on the Snorkeling Silfra Medical Statement Form (available at the location). You also must be comfortable in water and be able to swim, be able to communicate in English or have an interpreter with you at the time of the tour, be physically fit. You must be a minimum of 150 cm and a maximum of 200 cm in height and weigh between 45 and 120 kilos.
You must be a maximum of 65 years of age to participate in this tour. If you are over 60 years of age, you need a medical waiver. You must be a minimum of 12 years of age to participate in this tour. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian booked on the same tour.
Snorkelling cannot be done by pregnant women.

Instructions

Please show up at our Reykjavik Terminal (located at Skógarhlíð 10) 15 minutes prior to the departure time. Please be ready at your pick up point with your voucher, either in digital or printed form. Be aware that a medical waiver must be filled out and brought along in order to participate in the snorkeling portion of the tour.

What to take with you?

For the in-bus audio guide please bring your own headphones. Headphones are also available for purchase in every bus from our personnel.
For your comfort dress according to weather. In Iceland, it is always wise to wear warm waterproof clothes. Weather changes can be sudden so be prepared for any weather conditions. Waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves, warm socks and waterproof shoes are recommended.
For snorkeling you need to fill out a medical waiver. In case of any medical history, a doctor may need to also sign it. You can get the medical waiver also on our bus.

Itinerary

	Starting off in Reykjavik from our Reykjavik terminal at Skógarhlíð 10 we will depart for Þingvellir, a 45-60 minute ride.
	The tour starts with Þingvellir National Park, the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you walk down the path into a rift valley and admire the view while learning about Icelandic history.
	At the shores of the Þingvellir lake, you will jump into the astonishingly clear water for a chance to swim between the American and European sides of Iceland. You will have about 2 hours
	The next stop is at Geysir Hot Springs, the home of the one-and-only original geyser and Iceland’s most iconic natural attraction. Steaming hot water erupts from the famous Strokkur Geyser every few minutes.
	Heading back down Gullfoss Waterfall after about 3.5 hours you will have a chance to view a powerful glacial river as it cascades down 32 meters on two levels and into a narrow canyon with a thunderous roar.
	We then drive you back towards Reykjavik to our Reykjavik Terminal. If you booked a SmartBus pickup, you will be taken back to your place of stay from here.
	This tour is about 10 hours long including travel time and the time you spend at each location. You spend at least 45 minutes at the major stops giving you plenty of time to enjoy the nature and to take some pictures.
