All about the trip

First stop is Þingvellir National Park, where you retrace the footsteps of ancient Vikings who established their first national parliament here in 930 AD. This would be the settlers first major step towards being an independent nation. Þingvellir is also where the American and Eurasian continental plates are dramatically pulling apart at an annual rate of 2 cm. Also, there, right before your eyes, is Iceland’s largest lake, Þingvallavatn.

Next it´s on to see the world famous Geysir where the ground trembles and steaming hot water spouts spectacularly skywards from the famous Strokkur Geyser every few minutes. Our last stop is the awesome Gullfoss Waterfall, a breathtaking sight to behold. Here a powerful glacial river cascades down 32 meters on two levels and into a narrow canyon with a thunderous roar.

Have a picnic at Þingvellir, take a longer stroll around Geysir, or simply sit back and enjoy the thunder of Gullfoss for longer. The choice is yours!

For instance, we recommend having a picnic at Þingvellir or hiking up the hill at Geysir to get a panoramic view of the area.

What to take with you?

Please, dress according to weather. In Iceland it is always wise to dress in warm, waterproof clothes. Weather changes can be sudden, so expect the unexpected. Bring a waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves. Good outdoor shoes are recommended.
We recommend that you bring your own headphones, simply because they will fit you best. If you don’t have your headphones, with you or forgot to bring them, no worries we sell earphones on board.
