Mae Taeng River

Our caving and canoeing trip begins at 8 AM when we pick you up from your accommodation or other convenient location in Chiang Mai. We first have an hour and a half drive to Chiang Dao caves, the coolest spot in Chiang Dao. The caves contain several Buddhist shrines and are regarded as holy meditation site. We explore the caves for approximately 45 minutes.

From the caves we drive further north to Mae Taeng river. The drive takes just below an hour, and when we reach the river, we first take a break for a delicious Thai lunch.

After lunch, we prepare the canoes and put on safety helmets and vests. Then you get briefed on safety, and afterwards we are ready for a real adventure! We canoe down the river and make our way over the rapids for about two hours. Mae Taeng river is one of the best places for canoeing in Thailand and it offers some amazing views of surrounding mountains and lush jungle a long the way.

Back on the shore, our driver waits to take us to Chiang Mai. The drive takes around two hours, and you are back in the city between 5 and 6 PM.
