- Rice paddies
- Fruit plantations
- The island's Ancient Mon Pottery Center, Wat Paramai Yikawat or Wat Mon
All about the trip
We start by riding along a canal and through rice paddies that go on as far as the eye can see. At one point we'll be literally riding above the canal as we ride on an elevated walkway. We head off along the banks of the Chao Phraya River passing through local communities going about their everyday life. We then head away from river life and pass into the rural surroundings where we pass through rice paddies and fruit plantations before finishing the first part of our journey back on the banks of the river at Bang Bua Thong. On Koh Kret, we see the pottery village and visit the island's Ancient Mon Pottery Center, Wat Paramai Yikawat or Wat Mon, which contains a Mon styled marble Buddha. The one road round the island is a treat to cycle on due to the absence of cars. We finish the cycling by crossing back over the river to Wat Bang Jak. Then enjoy a great Thai lunch overlooking the river as your rewards for exertions of the day before our transport home.
