All about the trip

Start your experience in the upper part of Passeig de Gràcia and continue your journey to Catalonia’s most iconic mountain decorated with the Benedictine Monastery.

On the way to the Monastery, marvel at the Massif of Montserrat, a spectacular rocky range consisting of unique needle-shaped formations. Upon arrival, visit the Monastery that was founded in the 10th century and functions to this day with over 70 monks. It is also well-known for hosting the figure of La Moreneta (visit not guaranteed), the patron saint of Catalonia. Your guide will tell you about the fascinating history of this monastery that is over a thousand years old.

A bus will take you to the farmhouse where you will have lunch from locally grown ingredients.

You can look forward to a delicious 3-course menu, salad as the first course, the second course being a combination of barbecue (vegetarian and halal option) and third a delicious dessert.

In August the restaurant will not be the usual, but you will be able to appreciate the views of Montserrat.

Once this massif is observed from a distance, it is easier to understand the importance of this mountain influencing the traditions and culture of the regions that surround it. After this full day of adventures, you will return to the center of Barcelona by private transportation.

Itinerary

10:30	Meet with your guide at Pasatge de la concepció 7.
10:40	Start your experience at Paseo de Gracia. Go through Barcelona learning the stories about the buildings and the Eixample. We will drive you through Diagonal avenue, the largest avenue in Barcelona. See the Royal Palace of Pedralbes and the Campus from the UB, the first public university in the city. You will be also able to see the Sportive City of FC Barcelona and its headquarters. Get into the Nature Park of Montserrat.
11:40	Visit the monastery and learn about its history. Visit the Basilica of Santa Maria de Montserrat and learn about the monks living there. If available, listen to the boys' choir.
13:15	Enjoy the free time and visit the farmers market and cafeteria. Check out the souvenir shops.
14:20	Reunite with your guide.
15:15	Leave for the farmhouse restaurant.
15:45	Reach the restaurant and enjoy your meal. You can visit animals they keep and botanic gardens nearby.
16:30	Take the bus to get back to Barcelona.
17:30	Your experience ends.
