All about the trip

For centuries large squads of squid have made the Bay their home. Nighttime squid fishing has become a favorite traditional pastime of the surrounding villages. The best time to witness this tradition is between the times of late May and early February.

Our first stop on our cruise will be the local fish farm where you will meet your guide. Your guide will teach you the important art of “squid jigging” which is one of the best ways to catch squid. Squid are notoriously known for being attracted to bright lights; you’ll notice the fisherman have plenty of flashlights in order to ensure your adventure is successful!

Once you’ve caught your squid you can select your best catch for the barbecue. Grilled squid is a Vietnamese delicacy and you will have the pleasure of knowing that you caught your own supper.

After you’ve eaten your fill, we will make our way back by boat to the mainland. As you approach the beach you will be mystified by the glowing bioluminescence that lights up the sand lighting your path back home.
