All about the trip

Ponta de São Lourenço peninsula walk is perfect for those who want to see a completely different view of Madeira island, don't want too long walk or don't have too much time. With almost lunar landscape (a sci-fi movie was already filmed on this location) this walk has its fair amount of up and downs, always surrounded by the calm and clear ocean water. In the end, we will find Casa do Sardinha were we will relax, have a picnic and for those who dare there is a chance to take a refreshing swim.

Seeing the sun, rising from the atlantic ocean is an experience everyone should do once on their life. We always did this hike, and we know its a extra-special, doing it at the start of the day, just listening to the waves crashing the cliffs, and first smells wen the sun hits the land! We will let the pictures talk by it self, and hope you join us in this almost lunar landscape (yes it was already filmed a sci-fi movie there, but that’s another story). This is considered by us and easy walk, due to the small distance of the 8km, but this walk has its fair amount of up and downs, always surrounded by the slow clear ocean water. We will arrive at the tip on the island where we will find casa do Sardinha for a relax, have a picnic and for the one who dares, take a refreshing swim in cais do sardinha, a little peer in the amazing ponta de são Lourenço waters

This is a walk done 100% in a trail, its up and downs, please make sure you wear appropriate footwear and clothes! All the extra equipment that you may need, like walking sticks, can be provided by us if asked previously, we advise you to wear appropriate, warm and comfortable clothes, and don’t forget to pack your own snack/picnic and water! What to take with you?

This is a trek done on a trail, please make sure you wear appropriate footwear and clothes, and that vertigo, tunnels and challenging climbs and descents are not a problem for you. Please, bring comfortable clothes and shoes and be prepared for sun/cold in the mountains. Also, pack some snack/water.
