From here we follow vineyards along the Varosa River valley and along the way, we will find Roman bridges, impressive gorges dug in granite, Roman roads and the breathtaking Varosa dam with amazing views.
We pause to eat typical food of the region and taste the famous sparkling wine of Raposeira. Converging to the valley of the Balsemão river, we will find what is considered the oldest church in Europe. Our next stop will be Lamego, the pearl of the Alto Douro, a city that is an open-air museum. Here we will visit the Cathedral of Lamego and then climb the staircase of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios.
