All about the trip
Explore Balinese cultural traditions and visit villages in Ubud where you can see woodworkers, silversmiths and batik artists at work. Stroll around the picturesque rice terraces in Tegalalang. Taste coffee at a local coffee plantation and see the magical Tanah Lot temple perched on a rock above the sea.
Our first stop in the morning is Tegalalang with its beautiful rice terraces irrigated by traditional system devised according to a local legend by a holly man in 8th century.
We continue to a coffee plantation where we can watch the coffee-making process and learn about coffee Luwak. This most expensive coffee in the world is processed by using beans previously digested by civets. They also grow vanilla, clove and cocoa here. We can taste different coffee, tea or cocoa drinks.
Next, we head to Ubud. We visit the village of Mas known for woodcarving. In Celuk local artisans make silver and gold jewelry. In Tohpati we can see batik weaving. We will meet local people and learn about their daily life and traditions.
In the evening we drive to Tanah Lot. The small temple on a rock is a popular pilgrimage site. Here, we will enjoy the view of a magical sunset.
