All about the trip
Bari is the capital city of the Bari and Apulia region, located next to the Adriatic Sea, in southern Italy. It's a quintessential Italian city that is rich in historic, seafaring traditions. So why not let an experienced guide show you around by bicycle?
Exploring any city by bicycle is always a pleasant experience and discovering Bari is certainly no exception. Our tour begins by visiting the main historic attractions of the old town such as the Basilica of Saint Nicholas and its Crypt, the ancient Cathedral of Saint Sabinus and the millenary Swabian Castle. Your guide will be able to explain to you some of the history of these fascinating landmarks.
We pedal onwards to discover the modern French part of the city located next to Bari's famous sea-side, with its rustic fish markets, opera theatres and luxury shopping streets.
Our tour concludes at Signora Maria’s house, who is our local pasta-making expert of Bari. This is where we will learn how to make "Orecchiette" which is the regional speciality of home-made pasta. After discovering the secrets of its traditional recipe we will cook some together. When it is ready we will 'taste test' our pasta whilst enjoying a glass of genuine Primitivo red wine.
Once the tour is complete and now armed with your new pasta-making knowledge, you will leave feeling just like a Bari local!
