Kaymakli Underground City is one of the treasures and most fascinating sights of Cappadocia. Its caves had been inhabited since 8th century BC. Early Christians have used the caverns as an effective defence system protecting them from persecution. There is a hundred of tunnels in the city, many storage rooms, stables and a church.

We make a short break at the heart-shaped Lake Nar. It is a great opportunity to relax and make some amazing photos. The lake basin is a result of volcanic activity and there is a number of hot springs around the lake.

Now it is time to explore Ihlara Canyon on a 3.8 km hike by the riverside. We can admire the beautiful nature of the valley and visit some of its many Byzantine churches.

Our last stop is Sarihan Caravanserai. It served as a residence for merchants and their camels since 13th century.

After the tour, we will drop you off at your hotel in Cappadocia region.

What to take with you?

Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. We recommend to wear shorts, not a skirt that may be inconvenient for the countryside tour. Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a camera. In spring and autumn please bring a light jacket or raincoat with you.
