Discover the rare sights of Cappadocia including the sacred town of Hacibektas. Visit the tomb and the museum of Haji Bektash Veli, the Sufi mystic and philosopher. Admire amazing frescoes in the Church of St. John in Gulsehir. Enjoy a short hike through picturesque Pigeon Valley.

The town of Hacibektas is a place where the philosopher Haji Bektash Veli lived and worked. The Sufi dervish founded the Bektashi order here. We will visit his tomb and museum.

St. John's Church in Gulsehir hides beautiful frescoes depicting scenes from the Bible and the life of Jesus. Its two floors underwent a restoration process in 1995 and the frescoes are well preserved.

To replenish our strengths, we will enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. Then we head off to Pigeon Valley to enjoy a short hike.

The fascinating scenery is created by rock formations all around. Our trail will lead us from Uçhisar to the town of Göreme. There you can relax and take rest in a Turkish bath.

What to take with you?

Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. We recommend to wear shorts, not a skirt that may be inconvenient for the countryside tour. Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a camera. In spring and autumn please bring a light jacket or raincoat with you.
