All about the trip

Looking like something from the film-set of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, Gili Mimpang is located just outside of Amuk Bay where the seafloor begins to slope down into the depths of the Lombok Strait.

Known locally as ‘Batu Tiga’ (three rocks), Gili Mimpang is comprised of three large, separate rock structures which aggressively jut out of clear blue sea.

Generally speaking, Gili Mimpang is considered to be a much easier boat dive than Gili Tepekong, both of which are located around the Amuk Bay. Many divers class Gili Mimpang as a macro dive site because it is so extremely rich in microscopic marine life. Gili Mimpang is usually swarming in frog-fish, rhinopías and nudibranch. Guaranteed to make any underwater photographer happy, Mimpang is also covered in many beautiful soft and hard corals.

As with all our sea dives, you will need diving experience and to be diver certified in order to participate on this activity.

You will need to bring your own bathing suit and towel. Dry clothes to change into afterwards are also needed.

What to take with you?

Please bring your own swimwear. You may also bring a waterproof bag with a towel, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks and any other supplies you may need for the day.
