1. Lauterbrunnen

Lauterbrunnen is a picturesque village located at an altitude of 802 m in the valley of the Bernese Oberland, not that far from the Interlaken, surrounded by sheer cliffs and waterfalls.

The village is, for sure, stuck in the heart of more than one traveler. As they say, Lauterbrunnen became the prototype of the fairy-tale World of elves in the famous movie "The Lord of the Rings".

Lauterbrunnen Valley is often called the Valley of the 72 Waterfalls; it is not surprising that the name, Lautr Brunnen, which means “Loud Waterfall” or “Loud Fountain” from German.

The village is located at the foot of the 300-meter Staubbach waterfall (Staubbach) - one of the highest waterfalls in Europe. In 1779, Johann Wolfgang Goethe visited this valley and, under the impression of a roaring waterfall, subsequently wrote his famous poem “The Song of the Spirits over the Waters”.

Next to Lauterbrunnen, you can also see the Thrummelbach Falls - the only waterfall in Europe inside the cliff. That is worth to visit!

2. Engelberg

Engelberg itself is a small, modest village in an idyllic valley between the mountains.

Engelberg is located on the border of two cantons - Obwalden and Nidwalden. Climbing into the mountains you find yourself already in Nidwalden, and after passing through the Jochpass pass - in the canton of Bern.

Orientation in the town is very easy. The main street is Dorfstrasse. Here are located most of the shops and restaurants. Many of them may close in November.

In summer this place is good for mountain walks on the purest alpine air, in winter they ski and sledge here.

If you want to try something unique, there is an opportunity to experience Tandem-flight in Engelberg. Paragliding is the most simple and beautiful way to fly and explore the village. 3. Montreux

Montreux is the capital of the Swiss Riviera, full of luxury palace hotels. The city is known for its mild climate, the beautiful promenade of Lake Geneva with a view of the snowy peaks of the Alps, many restaurants, and cafes with cozy terraces.

Also, there is an international jazz festival that is held in Montreux every summer. For these two weeks, the small town turns into a huge musical platform under the open sky.

Montreux is an ideal place for rich people - everything is created for a luxurious life. However, for visiting tourist attractions are not so many. By itself, the city - a continuous series of luxury hotels.

The only thing that really deserves attention is the Chillon castle in the suburb of Montreux, the most famous of all Swiss castles and one of the symbols of the country. A walk from Montreux station to the castle and back takes about one and a half hours, plus about an hour can take a tour of the castle.
