All about the trip
Join us for an incredible afternoon of sightseeing and history around the Korean capital, Seoul. Together we will visit Gyeongbok Palace, The National Folklore Museum, the N Seoul Tower and many more exciting locations. Your English-speaking tour-guide will tell you all you need to know about the fascinating history of these locations.
Our afternoon begins by collecting you from your hotel in Seoul. We will drive past the Presidential Blue House (Cheongwadae) on the way to our first official stop, which is the magnificent Gyeongbok Palace.
The first thing that catches your eye when you arrive at the Presidential Blue House (Cheongwadae) is the blue tiles of the main building. The blue tiles and the smooth roof are in beautiful harmony with Mt. Bugaksan behind it. It's a great place to snap a few photos at before we quickly move on.
Our first stop, Gyeongbok Palace was built in 1395 and is commonly referred to as the “Northern Palace” because it is located more northernly, than the neighboring palaces of Changdeok (Eastern Palace) and Gyeonghee (Western Palace). Gyeongbok Palace is arguably the most beautiful and remains the grandest of all the five palaces.
After the palace and excited for some more history, we will visit the National Folklore Museum. The National Folk Museum displays much of the lifestyle of the ancient Koreans. There are over 20,000 vestiges, with a total of 4000 folk relics. In the Centre Hall there are traditional culture or folk related exhibits. The “Hall of Korean Lifestyle” shows the lifestyles of Koreans from pre-historic times to the Joseon Period (1392~1910). You can easily compare the cultural characteristic and vestiges by period and you can see the development of pottery, agricultural implements and prints.
Next up we will head to the N Seoul Tower to visit The Alive Museum. In the Alive Museum we will see the paintings drawn with special high-transparency paints and optical illusion methods. You can even be a part of the 3-Dimensional paintings! After our tour of the Alive Museum, we will ascend the tower to enjoy a breathtaking view over the whole of Seoul city in the N Seoul Tower Observatory. Be warned however, it can get quite busy up here sometimes as it's an Instagram selfie hotspot!
Opened to the public on 15th October 1980, Seoul Tower was designated as a major tourist attraction. From this location, a beautiful panoramic view of Seoul can been seen. The 236 metre high Seoul Tower was also built on the 243m Mt. Namsan for extra height. After 30 years of devoted support from visitors, it was remodelled in 2005 with a magnificent new look. The letter N signifies this ‘new’ look, and a total construction cost of 15 billion won was invested into Seoul Tower to help modernise it.
After an exhilarating and inspiring afternoon of touring Seoul we will then return you to your hotel. What could be better?
