All about the trip

Combining snorkeling and caving gives you the ultra experience of Icelandic nature. You will explore the hidden world of the lava fields on foot and underwater.

The cave we will visit is called Leiðarendi. The 900 meter long lava tube offers unique rock formations, such as stalactites and shelves. Some light crawling may be required yet Leiðarendi cave has a rather easy access to the underworld wonders of the Icelandic lava fields.

You will snorkel under the UNESCO World Heritage site, Þingvellir national park at the freshwater fissure Silfra, one of the best diving site in the world.

Silfra is about 60-63 meter where it is deepest. Silfra is a freshwater fissure and you can almost see end to end as the water is so clear. No diving experience is needed as you will snorkel at the surface of the canyon. We provide all the gear that you need and offer snorkeling in wetsuit and drysuit all dependant on your interest.

Please make sure that you are comfortable in the water and are able to swim. You should be at least a bit physically fit. Make sure that you have read, signed, and followed directions on the Silfra Snorkeling Medical Statement and also signed our liability release form at the start of the tour. You must be at minimum 145 cm (4’9) tall and maximum 200cm (6’7) tall. Your weight should be at minimum 45 kg (99 lbs) and maximum 120 kg (264 lbs). This activity is not suitable for pregnant women. You must be at least 14 years old to participate in this activity.

You can rent a GoPro camera from us.

What to take with you?

We will provide you with all the necessary gear required for snorkeling and caving. However, please bring clothes suited to dress under a drysuit such as long, warm underwear or sweat suit, and warm socks or clothes suited to dress under a wetsuit such as a swimsuit. Also, please bring warm clothes to wear prior and after the snorkeling and a water resistant outer layer as it can be wet inside the cave. You will also need a towel, some lunch or a snack. We recommend to bring a camera.

	Winter Departures: From November 1st – February 28th: Pick-up is between 8:45 and 9:15

Cancellation Policy - Benevolent

Cancellation more than 4 days prior to the starting date. Clients are automatically refunded the full booking price.
Cancellation within 48 to 96 hours prior to the starting date. Clients are entitled to a 50% refund of the booking price.
Cancellation less than 48 hours prior to the starting date. No refunds.
